How we meet this plant

Gather ripe red haws from abundant trees, leaving plenty for birds. Spring flowers and leaves have their own shorter season.

Use haws in syrups, vinegars, jams, teas, and long-steeped preparations. Remove hard seeds from food preparations where needed.
